Beaufort, SC - October 25, 2006

Emerging Beaufort-based Digitalsmiths Corporation, the leader in web-based video archiving, has added Ronald Loewen, a strategic business development professional, to its fast-growing company.

According to Ben Weinberger, CEO of Digitalsmiths, Ron’s industry contacts and expertise will accelerate the company’s ability to grow a successful enterprise. “Ron not only brings a wealth of information to Digitalsmiths, his deep knowledge of the inner-workings of production studios gives Digitalsmiths an edge on any competition,” Weinberger said. “Ron will be working to develop business strategy and connect us with key industry professionals.”

This key addition comes on the heels of a major distribution contract with DG Entertainment, a Los Angeles-based entertainment production company to sell and distribute Digitalsmiths latest technology Media Access Pro®, a proprietary video search and retrieval web platform.

“I’ve had my eye on Digitalsmiths for about a year, ever since a private investment firm interested in investing in the company invited me to evaluate their business model,” Loewen said. “They were doing video search before video search was cool.”

Loewen has helped build media businesses from newspapers to broadcast television and now digital and start up new media enterprises for more than 30 years. “I can tell you from experience, that Digitalsmiths has a head start in the white hot space and I am thrilled to be working with this successful leader in video and film technology to help them build significant enterprise value.”

Weinberger said that Loewen’s background in executive management in both news and operations with major television stations brings needed expertise to help Digitalsmiths as it develops and implements its long term goals and objectives.

Recently, investors, both private and public, saw the growth potential in Digitalsmiths and awarded the company $1 million to expand its product innovations in online video indexing and search platforms for television shows and feature films.
