Beaufort, SC - November 13, 2006

Dan McBreen has joined the budding web-based video archiving company, Digitalsmiths, as Vice President of Sales, according to Ben Weinberger, CEO.

Although Digitalsmiths is based in Beaufort, SC, McBreen will be located in Atlanta, GA to take advantage of that market. He will also initially be responsible for sales in Los Angeles and New York.

Weinberger said that due to the continued growth of Digitalsmiths, it was necessary to have a true sales presence in their major markets. “Dan’s experience is exactly what we need to build our go-to-market sales strategies, as well as the teams that will help our technology solutions become industry standards,” Weinberger said.

Digitalsmiths, founded in 1998, has grown from an Internet-based software development company to the industry leader in archiving, cataloging, searching and retrieving television and film video footage through its proprietary software platform, Media Access Pro®.

“With the challenges that face our fast-paced evolving market, Dan’s extensive and successful career bringing new and evolving technology solutions to the market will be a great asset to Digitalsmiths,” Weinberger said.
Prior to Digitalsmiths, McBreen spent eight years with Quest Software in North America and Europe building go-to-market strategies and sales teams around newly developed or acquired technology offerings.

In his last position at Quest, McBreen managed a team responsible for selling to IBM to build joint offerings as their alliance partner. He is a graduate of Indiana University.

“I look forward to working with a very solid executive team and Board of Directors at Digitalsmiths to lead the sales and business development efforts,” McBreem said. “Our goal is to capitalize on the convergence and explosive growth of the video recognition and product placement industry.”

McBreen’s addition comes on the heels of Digitalsmiths bringing a strategic business development professional on board to help the company with its long term strategic goals; as well as signing a major licensing agreement with DG Entertainment, a Los Angeles based entertainment production company to sell and distribute its Media Access Pro®, their proprietary video search and retrieval platform.
