Digitalsmiths Corporation announced today that it is creating a board of advisors to provide strategic guidance and drive new business growth.
Tom MacIsaac of Cove Street Partners and Brian Handly of Microsoft are the first members appointed to the new board, and will help with securing financing and new customers.
Tom MacIsaac is president of Cove Street Partners and brings with him to Digitalsmiths more than 15 years of experience working with entrepreneurs and investors. He has been instrumental in creating and building internet software, digital media and advertising companies. Before Cove Street Partners, MacIsaac was senior vice president of strategy and corporate development for AOL's advertising.com division, a subsidiary of Time Warner. MacIsaac played a major role in transforming AOL into a leading diversified advertising business leading over $1 billion in AOL acquisitions including Third Street Media, AdTech, TACODA and Quigo. He also secured partnerships for AOL with Hulu, Warner Bros. and Verizon Wireless. Prior to AOL, MacIsacc was CEO of Lightingcast, Inc and built it into a leading ad serving platform for Internet audio and video advertising with customers including AOL, Comcast, Disney/ABC, MTV and the NBA.
Brian Handly is senior vice president, sales for Atlas Publisher Suite in Microsoft's Advertiser & Publisher Solutions. He brings over 15 years of technical, operational and executive management experience to Digitalsmiths. Handly currently manages all aspects of client sales and service within North and South America, and his strategic guidance drives new business and expands the company's customer base. He previously was CEO and Co-Founder at Accipiter, which was acquired by Atlas. During this time, he grew its flagship product, AdManager, into a recognized leader in the digital advertising industry.
